1. Program Description
The RIKEN, Research Center for Allergy and Immunology (RCAI) will be integrated with the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM). A new research center, Center for Integrative Medical Sciences, will be launched in Yokohama, Japan, in April 2013.
We are pleased to announce that we will hold the international summer program, maintaining the name RISP (RCAI international summer program) for 2013, as it has been well recognized since 2006.
We are accepting applications to our eighth International Summer Program, which will be co-organized by Chiba University. This program aims to provide young scientists with the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge immunology research. The program will consist of lectures from internationally distinguished immunologists and presentations by each participant. It is open to both talented graduate students and young postdocs, with lodging and travel expenses fully covered.
Up to 40 participants will be invited to spend a week (from June 21 to June 28) at the RIKEN facilities in Yokohama, during which all members will also attend the RCAI-JSI International Symposium on Immunology 2013. The Summer Program lecture course was developed to present both basic concepts and state-of-the-art research in order to promote better understanding of allergies and immunology.
Up to four participants from the Summer Program will remain for an additional month as Summer Interns. During this internship (from July 1 to July 26) intern students will carry out research activities at laboratories following the summer lecture course.
